Montreal Alouettes sign Australian dual-threat kicker and CFL Global Draft pick Joshua Hutley

The Montreal Alouettes signed second-round CFL Global Draft pick Joshua Hutley (16th overall), a 29-year-old Australian punter/kicker from Concord University, to bolster their special teams.

Hutley’s collegiate credentials
In 22 games (2023-24), Hutley recorded 4,894 yards on 117 punts and 3,429 kickoff yards. The 6’0″, 200-pound specialist earned 2023 All-Super Region One Second Team and All-MEC First Team honors.

Greg Quick’s full assessment
Alouettes coach Greg Quick, who oversees the Global Draft, stated:

“He’s older (29) but a talented guy. He can kick FGs, punt, and kickoff. He’s left-footed but can kick with both his right and left foot. He has the talent and ability to drive and place the ball in the kicking game.”

Hutley’s ambidextrous versatility positions him as a Swiss Army knife for Montreal’s 2025 campaign.
