The Munich Ravens improved to a perfect 7-0 with a commanding 38-5 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy, strengthening their grip on first place in the European Football Alliance while clinching another impressive win in the second all-German rivalry of the inaugural season.
With the victory, the Ravens have already secured a playoff berth, while the Galaxy slipped to 3-4 despite still remaining in contention for the EFA BIG4 Semi Final Weekend.
Ravens take control early
From the opening drive, Munich dictated the tempo with a balanced offensive attack led by quarterback Russell Tabor and a dominant running game.
Justus Seelig capped the opening possession punching the ball in from one yard out before a field goal extended the lead to 10-0. Tabor then connected with Louis Geyer for the first of his two touchdown receptions, and Seelig added another rushing score to send the Ravens into halftime comfortably ahead 23-0.
Tabor completed 32 of 43 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns, spreading the ball to nine different receivers. Geyer finished with 10 catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns, while Marvin Rutsch added eight receptions for 69 yards.
Ground game dominates
The Ravens controlled the game on the ground as well, piling up 195 rushing yards.
Seelig led the way with 127 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries, averaging an impressive 11.5 yards per attempt. Benedikt Pohler added 98 rushing yards and a touchdown as Munich consistently wore down the Frankfurt defense.
After Geyer caught his second touchdown pass early in the third quarter, Seelig powered in the two-point conversion to extend the lead to 31-0.
Defense shines again
The Galaxy never found an answer against the Munich defense, finishing with just 47 passing yards and 106 rushing yards. Ethan Garbers was limited to 4-of-13 passing for 12 yards before backup Conrad Schumann took over, and the Ravens recorded four sacks while consistently disrupting the passing game.
Frankfurt’s only points came on a safety following a high snap over backup quarterback Levin Adrom before Ryan Rimmler later added a field goal.
Pohler’s late touchdown completed another dominant afternoon as the Ravens reinforced their status as the team to beat in the inaugural EFA season.
