New offensive stats leaders in Sweden after 4th week of play

The stats picture in the Swedish Superserien underwent a shakeup this past week as the Stockholm Mean Machines were knocked out of top spot in two of the three key offensive categories..

The four teams in the league this year – the Stockholm Mean Machines, Carlstad Crusaders, Örebro Black Knights and Uppsala 86ers – have passed the midpoint of the season.

Passing

 

Danny Farley of the Carlstad Crusaders has moved into top spot among quarterbacks after last weekend’s games after throwing for 209 yards against Uppsala and now has 414 yards on the season. Behind him in second now  is Mean Machines quarterback Jan Weinreich in 2nd with 406 yards in only two games. He had a 251 yard day against the Black Knights. Bumped down to 3rd with his 404 yards after sitting out last week’s game is Stockholm’s Tim Morovick. Jake Sisson of the Örebro Black Knights is 4th with 203 yards while Carlstad’s backup QB Alf Ransjö rounds out the top 5 with 164 yards.

Rushing

 

Carlstad’s Emil Knutsson had a 103 yard rushing day last week against the Uppsala 86ers and has taken over top spot with 218 yards rushing. Black Knights running back Kasper Wedberg has 188 yards in four games while his counterpart with Stockholm, Tim Göransson has 183 now and is 3rd. Mean Machines QB Tim Morovick, who was idle last weekend, has slipped down to 4th with 154 yards. Crusaders RB Emil Östlund has 147 yards and is 5th.

Receiving

Stockholm’s Edvin Almeida Taborda has taken over first among all receivers in Sweden with his 208 yards and league-best 6 TDs. Teammate Ben von Jagow had a big day last week with 116 yards and now sits 2nd with 194 yards. Carlstad’s  Jacob Bergwall is now the 3rd leading receiver with 185 yards while another Mean Machines receiver, Pär Lindelöf is 4th. He now has 168 yards. Rounding out the Top 5 is Kevin Börzsei of the Crusaders with 140 yards.
