New receiving leader in Sweden as final weekend of play looms

With the final weekend of play in Sweden coming up, the stats leaders have seen another change as Matt Retzlaff of the Stockholm Mean Machines has retaken the receiving lead. With that, the Mean Machines lead in two of the three categories as Stockholm RB Emil Knutsson maintains his rushing lead.

The Carlstad Crusaders have five players in the Top 5 in the three categories, passing, receiving and rushing. The Stockholm Mean Machines and Göteborg Marvels have three each while the Örebro Black Knights and Uppsala 86ers have two apiece.

Passing

Despite the fact that the Carlstad Crusaders were idle from play in the Swedish Superserien, QB Philip Juhlin still leads the league in passing yardage with 1,971 yards and 25 TDs. Anders Hermodsson of the Stockholm Mean Machines is 2nd with his 1,484  yards while John Rock of the Uppsala 86ers has climbed up into 3rd with 1,255 yards. Örebro Black Knights quarterback Raleigh Yeldell III has slid down into 4th with 1,235 yards while RB/QB Gerard Johnson of the Göteborg Marvels in 5th with 1,100 yards and 12 TDs.

Receiving

Stockholm Mean Machines WR Matthew Retzlaff is back as the leading receiver in Sweden with 764 yards after catching 6 passes for 161 yards and 2 TDs last week against the Black Knights. Robin Juhlin of the Carlstad Crusaders has slipped down into 2nd while his team was idle in the Swedish Superserien. He has 749 yards and 10 TDs. Last year’s top wide receiver, Jacob Dahre of the Crusaders is 3rd with 464 while Göteborg Marvels Edvin Almeida Taborda  has jumped up into 4th with 429 yards. Isac Wikman of the Uppsala 86ers is now the 5th leading receiver in Sweden with 428 yards..

Rushing

 Stockholm Mean Machines RB Emil Knutsson stays in the rushing lead with his 689 yards but he is closely followed by Johnny Grandin of the Örebro Black Knights who now has 652 yards.  Marvels Gerard Johnson is now 3rd with 370 yards and 7 TDs while Carlstad Crusaders RB Victor Toresson is 4th with 355 yards. Crusader’s QB Philip Juhlin is 5th with 297 and a league-best 10 TDs.
