NFL 2022 Draft: Dates, Time, Location, and More!

The annual Player Selection Meeting, also known as the National Football League Draft, is just a few weeks away. It’s that time of the year when teams select the best college players in hopes of reinforcing their franchise for the years to come.

Every football talent that has graced the league since 1936 had to go through this process, from Jim Brown to Tom Brady to reigning Super Bowl MVP, Cooper Kupp. This is where legends are born.

The 2022 NFL draft is right around the corner, and we sure can tell that there are big questions in the minds of football fans. Who will the Jacksonville Jaguars select first overall? Will there be surprises? Are we going to see quarterback picks in the first round? We have to wait to find out.

While we await the big day, there are key details you should know about this year’s event: date, time, location, TV and live streaming platforms, draft order, and more.

What is the Start Time for the NFL Draft?

The Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, NV, will host the 2022 NFL Draft. This center is where the Las Vegas Raiders play their home games, and was supposed to host the 2020 NFL draft. However, as we all know, the pandemic forced the NFL to resort to a virtual player selection meeting.

Last year’s Draft took place at the FirstEnergy Stadium, OH, home of the Cleveland Browns.

TV? On-demand? How Can I Watch the Live Event?

You can watch rounds one to seven of the 2022 NFL Draft live on the NFL Network, ESPN, and ABC.

In addition, you may also watch the full event on your mobile devices via the ESPN or NFL mobile app or subscribe to on-demand streaming services like Sling TV and fuboTV.

Who Is Projected to be the No 1 Overall Pick?

ESPN’s Todd McShay projects Aidan Hutchinson from Detroit, Michigan, as the number 1 overall pick. Most sportsbooks have their NFL draft odds in favor of Hutchinson, so this might well be the case.

Other names receiving first-pick buzz include Evan Neal, Ikem Ekwonu, Trayvon Walker, and Kyle Hamilton.

What Is This Year’s Draft Order Like?

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have the first selection for the second year in a row. Last year, the Jaguars selected Trevor Lawrence, who led the league in INT.

This year, seven teams don’t have a first-round pick due to trade deals. They include the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Browns, Indiana Colts, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers. Although Miami traded their draft rights to the Philadelphia Eagles, they could obtain pick 29, thanks to a 2021 trade involving the third overall pick.
