“The first-ever regular season game in Dublin leads the slate of six international games to be played across Europe in the coming weeks, and it was a huge success,” said General Manager of NFL U.K. & Ireland Henry Hodgson. “Dublin was flooded with NFL fans from around the world, who had a chance to experience the NFL up close for the first time in Ireland. The game and the week of events that surrounded it will live long in the memories of everyone who played their part in creating NFL history.”

I want to thank both teams, as well as the 74,512 fans who attended the game, for choosing to visit Dublin. It was a seamless experience for the fans in Croke Park, thanks to the stadium team, An Garda Síochána, Dublin City Council and the NFL. Congratulations to everyone involved and I hope it isn’t too long before we see the NFL here again.”

“Well done to the hometown Steelers, who turned Croke Park, and all of Dublin, black and yellow for the week,” said Minister of State for Sport and Postal Policy Charlie McConalogue TD. “It was a pleasure to welcome NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the Rooney Family and both teams to Dublin. My thanks also go to the Vikings and their superb traveling fans, who cheered their hearts out. I hope Dublin has the opportunity to do it all again in the near future.”

“Dublin city was at its very best last weekend, buzzing with vibrant colors and great energy with the many events taking place around the NFL game,” said Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Ray McAdam. “We were proud to welcome visitors from near and far, and to celebrate the powerful role sport and culture play in bringing people together in the heart of our capital.”
