The Nordic Storm improved to 6-1 with a convincing 40-14 road victory over the Raiders Tirol, returning from their bye week in dominant fashion while keeping the pressure on the unbeaten Munich Ravens in the European Football Alliance standings.
The loss dropped the Raiders to 0-7 despite a spirited third-quarter comeback attempt in front of the home crowd at Tivoli Stadium.
Storm build commanding lead
The Storm wasted little time taking control as Glen Toonga capped the opening drive with a touchdown run for a 7-0 lead.
The turning point came soon afterward. With the Raiders driving deep into Nordic territory, defensive back Macéo Beard Aigret intercepted Steven Krajewski and returned the ball for a touchdown, extending the advantage to 14-0.
Although Jonas Fuschelberger later intercepted Jadrian Clark, the Raiders were unable to capitalize. Clark instead found Roberto Miranda for two touchdown passes before halftime, sending the Storm into the break with a commanding 27-0 lead.
Raiders answer briefly
The Raiders came out with renewed energy after halftime. Jakob Scheucher forced a fumble on the kickoff return, with Lorenz Kriwak recovering to give the offense excellent field position.
Krajewski quickly connected with Tim Tonko for the home team’s first touchdown, and after another defensive stop, Tonko added his second score of the night to trim the deficit to 27-14.
For a brief stretch, the momentum belonged to Tirol, but the comeback wouldn’t last.
Championship response
The Storm answered like a championship contender. Clark settled the offense before throwing touchdown passes to Edvin Almeida on consecutive scoring drives, restoring complete control and sealing the 40-14 victory.
Brendan Beaulieu also reached a historic milestone, becoming the first player in EFA history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.
Clark directed another efficient offensive performance, while Miranda and Almeida each caught two touchdown passes. Combined with the defense’s momentum-changing pick-six, it was a complete team effort as the Storm strengthened their championship credentials and kept pace near the top of the EFA standings.
