The Nordic Storm (5-0) strengthened their claim as the team to beat in the European Football Alliance, rolling past the Paris Musketeers (3-2) 48-16 at Gladsaxe Stadium in a matchup that was expected to be far closer.
Coming into the game, many viewed Paris as the toughest challenge of the season so far for the unbeaten Nordic Storm. Instead, the Scandinavian side delivered one of its most complete performances of the year, racing to a 20-0 first-quarter lead and never looking back.
Fast start sets the tone
The game was effectively tilted in Nordic Storm’s favor almost immediately.
Quarterback Jadrian Clark was outstanding, completing 15 of 24 passes for 322 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target was Brendan Beaulieu, who turned in a spectacular performance with 10 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
The home side’s explosive offense struck from all angles. Roberto Atlas De Amorim Miranda added seven receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown, while Edvin Alberto Almeida Taborda hauled in four catches for 137 yards and a score.
By the end of the opening quarter, Paris was already facing a massive deficit.
Defense answers every challenge
While the offense piled up points, the Nordic Storm defense was equally impressive.
Paris quarterback Zach Edwards finished 15-of-34 for 219 yards and a touchdown, but he was intercepted three times. Maceo Beard-Aigret, Phillip Holm Boye and Ludvig Myrén each came away with interceptions as the defense repeatedly shut down promising drives.
The unit also limited one of the league’s most dangerous offenses to just 16 points.
Storm keep rolling
The running game played a major role as well. Glen Toonga continued his excellent season, carrying 17 times for 125 yards and a touchdown while helping control the tempo throughout the afternoon.
For Paris, Hugo Tekedam was the bright spot, catching seven passes for 133 yards, while Jason Bofunda added 89 rushing yards on 20 carries.
The victory keeps the Nordic Storm unbeaten at 5-0 and sets up a massive showdown with the Munich Ravens next week. For the Paris Musketeers, the loss serves as a reminder of just how high the bar currently is at the top of the EFA standings.
