Oslo Vikings add CFL veteran LB Bailey Feltmate for 2026 campaign

The Oslo Vikings have bolstered their defense with the signing of Canadian linebacker Bailey Feltmate, who brings professional experience from the Canadian Football League and a decorated collegiate background to the Norwegian league for the upcoming 2026 season.

Versatile linebacker with winning pedigree
The 6’2”, 240-pound Moncton native most recently played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he recorded eight special teams tackles and one reception for five yards across eight regular-season games, helping the team reach its fifth consecutive Grey Cup. Originally a second-round pick (17th overall) by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2020 CFL DraftFeltmate spent three seasons with Hamilton, amassing four defensive tackles and 35 special teams tackles over 43 games. His CFL career included two Grey Cup appearances and multiple winning seasons, highlighting his role as a dependable special teams contributor and versatile defensive piece.

Collegiate standout and leader
Before turning pro, Feltmate built an impressive resume at Acadia University, where he was a four-year starter and two-time AUS Defensive Player of the Year. He earned All-Canadian honors twice, helped lead the Axemen to two AUS Championships, and finished as the conference’s all-time tackle leader among four-year starters. Known for his work ethic and leadership—he served as a captain with the Tiger-CatsFeltmate also has coaching experience, having worked as Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Dalhousie University.

The signing signals Oslo’s intent to compete at a high level in 2026, adding a player with a proven track record of success in both professional and amateur settings. Feltmate’s versatility, special teams acumen, and experience in big games should provide an immediate boost to the Vikings’ defense and locker room culture.
