Kumul Football League will kick off in 2022 in Papua New Guinea

Papau New Guinea will be home to the newest member of the international American football community with the launch of the Kumul Football League – KFL –  later this year.

The Papua New Guinea American Football Federation, which was formed in May, made the announcement last week.

The KFL will start with four teams for the 2022 season and will kick off in November and run for a five week regular season with playoffs and a championship final.

All  four teams will be based in the Port Moresby, the capital city of Papau New Guinea, .

KFL Teams

1. South Side Conquerors (Blue Jerseys, Black Helmet, Black pants)
2. Badili Colts ( Maroon Jerseys, White Helmet, Silver pants)
3. Nine Mile Ravens (White & Purple Jerseys, Black Helmet, Black pants)
4. Gerehu Patriots (White & Pink Jerseys, White Helmet, Silver pants)

The league also states that it has secured an apparel sponsor in the Australian-based clothing company, ECOOLOM.

Coaching and officials clinics will be held from January to March 2022 with tryouts commencing in April and running until October 2022.
