Poland: Wroclaw Panthers rout Tychy Falcons, top LFA standings

The defending and two-time champion Wroclaw Panthers (2-0) had an easy time of it in routing the Tychy Falcons (0-2) 57-17 in Poland’s Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego (League of American Football).

Wroclaw, who had manhandled the Falcons in 2017, were surprised by Tychy’s offense and the Falcons took an early 3-0 lead before Panthers quarterback Tim Morovick guided his team to a touchdown.

The floodgates opened after that as the Panthers outscored Tychy 28-7 in the second quarter alone to take a 35-10 halftime lead.

Wroclaw continued their dominance in the second half adding two more touchdowns in the third quarter before the Falcons could score again early in the fourth. Then, with mainly subs in the game, the Panthers scored twice more in the fourth.

Wroclaw Panthers head coach Nick Johansen:

“We are happy that we can go into the Easter break with two wins under our belts. It was a good test for our team. It’s great that we could give so many rookies a chance and see how they play. Tychy proved that they can be a very good side at times and will definitely be in the mix this season. We now have a break and and can prepare for a very important game against the Gdynia Seahawks.”

The Panthers top the  Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego with their two wins with the Gdynia Seahawks right behind, also with two wins. The two teams will meet on April 8 in Gdynia.
