Portugal’s LPFA VI Final: Lisboa Navigators v. Cascais Crusaders

Europe’s first 2015 national championship has arrived. The Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Americano (LFPA) final this Saturday.

On Saturday, June 6th, the Lisboa Navigators and Cascais Crusaders CFA will face off in the LPFA VI Final. The game will be held at Municipal Stadium Taveiro, in Coimbra, Portugal at 11 a.m. CET.

Lisboa will be seeking its fifth consecutive Portuguese title having won the championship every year since 2010. In fact, since its establishment, the team has only lost one game in Portugal and that was against the Crusaders back in 2013.

The team arrives again unbeaten to this final match, and with best offense in the Portuguese league. Quarterback José Pedro has as his preferred targets wide receiver Tiago Soares and tight end Nélson Fidalgo.

The Cascais Crusaders are chasing their first title. The Crusaders have been close to the finals on four occasions before, but have lost in the semifinals in each of the last four seasons.

Cascaiss have a strong running game as quarterback António Pedro Santos relies heavily on the  running skills of running backs Wilson Rocha and Juzz Tiny.
