The Potsdam Royals were all over the offensive leaderboards during the German Football League quarterfinals, producing the weekend’s top passer and two of its three leading receivers in a 48-21 win over the Ravensburg Razorbacks.
Bay-Harvey leads through the air
Hugh “Bay” Harvey turned in the biggest passing performance, completing 20 of 34 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns as Potsdam pulled away from Ravensburg.
Dawson Herl was right behind him with 272 yards and a touchdown as the Düsseldorf Panther pushed the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns to the wire before falling 23-20.
Ravensburg’s Broghean McGovern finished third with 194 yards and two touchdowns.
Joiner runs wild
Kelley Joiner led everyone on the ground, ripping through Düsseldorf for 191 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. He averaged 10.1 yards per attempt and broke loose for a 42-yard run as Schwäbisch Hall advanced.
Potsdam’s Chrisman Kyei followed with 145 yards and a touchdown, while Drequan Harris churned out 101 yards and two scores as the Pforzheim Wilddogs eliminated the Hildesheim Invaders 21-8.
Royals receivers take over
Key’Shawn Smith led all receivers with 86 yards on just three catches for Potsdam, including a 53-yard touchdown.
Pforzheim’s AJ Coons finished one yard behind with five catches for 85 yards, while Milan Spiller gave the Royals another major weapon, hauling in five passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns.
With Harvey, Smith, Spiller and Kyei among the quarterfinal leaders, Potsdam’s 48-point afternoon was reflected all over the offensive leaderboard.
