Rhein Fire add Super Bowl-winning coach Wade Harman to staff

The Rhein Fire of the AFLE have made a major addition to their coaching staff, hiring former NFL veteran Wade Harman as tight ends coach and offensive advisor for the 2026 season.

From Madrid back to the NFL and beyond
Harman most recently served as offensive line coach for the Madrid Bravos, where his unit helped quarterback Reid Sinnett earn ELF MVP honors in 2025. Prior to his European stint, he worked as a senior assistant with the Miami Dolphins (2023) and spent three seasons as tight ends coach for the Denver Broncos (2019–2021). From 2015 to 2018, he held the same role with the Atlanta Falcons, following a season as their assistant offensive line coach in 2014.

A legacy built in Baltimore
Harman’s most impactful tenure came during his 15 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, where he served as tight ends coach and assistant offensive line coach from 1999 to 2013. During this period, he won two Super Bowl titles and worked with Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe. He began his NFL career as a coaching assistant with the Minnesota Vikings (1997–1998) after several years in the college ranks, including stops at Morningside (offensive coordinator), Pacific (CA) (running backs/wide receivers), and Utah State (running backs/tight ends)source.

A valuable asset for Fire’s title hopes
Head coach Mark Ridgley emphasized the significance of the hiring, stating, “The best players deserve the best coaches. With over 20 years of experience at the highest level, including two Super Bowl titles, Coach Wade will immediately help our team”. Harman’s wealth of knowledge—from his college play-calling days to his NFL championship experience—adds a unique developmental resource to Rhein Fire as they build leading up to the initial AFLE season.
