Romania: Resita Locomotives sign RB/DB Jacquel Watson

The Resita Locomotives, Romanian League of American Football semifinalists in 2021, have announced the signing of running back/defensive back Jacquel Watson.

The 5’9″, 216 pound, 26-year-old native of Vernon, Florida spent the first part of the 2021 season with the Jagodina Black Hornets in the Serbian top division. In six games, he carried the ball 63 times for 585 yards and six touchdowns while catching 10 passes for 40 yards. He also recorded 26 tackles on defense, six tackles for loss while intercepting six passes. He then signed to play in Germany Div. III with the Bielefeld Bulldogs.

Watson spent the 2017-19 seasons playing for the New Jersey Outlaws and New Jersey Sharks in the MLF.

He graduated from Concordia College Alabama where the versatile, two-way athlete rushed for 1,000 yards while also recording three interceptions on defense. He also starred on the Concordia baseball team.

In a recent private workout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Watson was clocked at a laser-timed 4.46 in the 40-yard dash.
