Serbia: SBB Vukovi Belgrade down Indija Indians for key win

SBB Vukovi Belgrade secured an important win on the weekend coming from behind to defeat the Indija Indians 35-21 in Serbian American Football League play.

Running back Mihailo Josović scored three second half touchdowns to lead Belgrade with quarterback Khari Vercher throwing one touchdown pass to Josh Hartigan and rushing for another himself.

Indija quarterback Blair Black threw three touchdown passes all to Stefan Borković.

The Indians took a 14-0 first quarter lead as Black was on fire connecting with Borkovic twice. But Vercher found Hartigan early in the second quarter from three yards out and then carried the ball himself to score midway through the quarter to even the score at 14-14 by halftime.

Black found Borkovic again in the third quarter to regain the lead, 21-14. But turnovers proved costly for Indija as Black threw two interceptions and Vukovi recovered a fumble.

That’s when Josovic took over scoring on runs of 11, six and three yards.

With the win, Vukovi improves to 3-1 while the Indians drop to 1-2.
