Sweden: Örebro Black Knights add Italian flair, sign WR Alan Orsetti

The Örebro Black Knights continue to add to their roster with the signing of Italian/Swiss wide receiver Alan Orsetti.

The 21-year-old, 5’9″, 176 pound native of Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, who has an Italian passport, has spent the past two years at the Filton College American Football Academy in Great Britain, playing for the Bristol Pride. The team plays against top junior teams across Europe such as the Cologne Crocodiles and the Ridge All Stars based in France.

Orsetti explains his background:

“I started playing at the age of 14 for the AFC Bienna Jets trying to step into my father’s footsteps. Football quickly became a passion and my hard work and dedication got the attention of Bristol Pride – an elite football academy based in Bristol, England where I spent 2 years playing against the top junior competition like Cologne Crocodiles (Germany), Pole France and Ridge All- Stars (France).”

Johan Sjögren, Black Knights Sports Management Group:

“Alan will contribute to our WR corps in an excellent way and he has the potential to become a key player in HC Timothy Speckman’s offense. He sees the field well and is very dangerous with the ball in his hands, which also makes him a good punt and kick returner. I think our fans at Behrn will be able to see similarities to previous wide receivers in the Black Knights – especially current receivers coach Johan Stål or Jonathan Gihl who possess the same explosiveness and dynamism in their way of playing football.”

Get out the popcorn

The young Orsetti is definitely not reluctant to predict his impact in Sweden with Örebro:

“The Black Knights are the perfect fit for me not just because of their great football culture but that family like energy I felt after speaking with the coaches. At Pride we carry a culture of winning and if there’s something the fans can expect from me is that I come to win a championship so Knights Nation better get your popcorn ready – something’s coming!?
