The Kristianstad Predators are setting their sights even higher for 2015
The Kristianstad Predators have announced that they have re-signed Head Coach Jon Walker for the 2015 season, which will mark his fourth year with the Predators.
The team has progressed every year Walker has been with the club making it to the Swedish semifinals in 2014.
In 2015, the sights have been set even higher.
His high octane offense delighted fans and players alike and helped propel the Predators to the top echelons of football in Sweden.
Since Walker took over, the team is 22 – 8, including being undefeated in his first season in division 1. After making the playoffs in the Swedish Super Series this past season for the first time in their history, they ran into a roadblock in the semifinals, losing to the eventual champions, the Carlstad Crusaders, but the loss has been put behind them.
“I am extremely excited about returning to the Predators for a fourth year. Every year I have been here we have taken several steps forward and I count on doing that again in 2015. We have a lot of work to do in the off season but I have enormous faith in our players, coaches and organization. Next season will be fantastic for this club.”
Before joining the Predators, Walker spent seven years as the head coach, offensive coordinator and running backs coach for the American River College Beavers in Sacramento, California. During his tenure, the Beavers won several championships and was rated having as one of the best offenses in the CCCAA – California Community College Athletics Association.
Walker also heads up the Kristianstad junior program and is an assistant coach on both the senior and junior Swedish national teams.
Tyson Gullien, new General Manager of the Predators:
“We are delighted to have managed to re-sign Coach Walker for 2015. He is a vital cog in both our senior and junior team programs.”
