Sweden’s Örebro Black Knights Sign Kentucky Athlete for 2017

The Örebro Black Knights, one of the elite teams in Sweden, have signed Nate Willis as their first import for the 2017 season.

From Pahokee High School to Arizona Western and the University of Kentucky, DB/WR/KR Willis (6’0 180, 183 cm 81 kg) will now wear the ‘Black Helmet’ for the Black Knights. Adding Willis is putting an elite level athlete on the 2016’s statistically leading Örebro Black Knights defense in the Swedish Super Series.

Head coach Aaron Fiddler is ecstatic about the club’s first signing:

“In Nate we are getting a football player who can help us in all phases of the game. His impact in practice and on game day because of his experience in his football career, especially playing in college football’s best conference, is going to benefit our organization beyond measure.” Fiddler adds, “I cannot wait for the fans at Behrn Arena to get to watch him play this season.”

Willis is looking forward to his opportunity to play in the Super Series and at Behrn Arena in 2017.

“This should be a great experience. I’m excited to see the fans, and I really look forward to getting to know my future teammates on and off the field.”

When asked about what it was like to play against the likes of Alabama and Mississippi State Willis had this to say:

“It was a lot of fun to play in front of 100,000 fans in the stadium and millions watching on television. Every game was really physical in our league, and I played with and against a lot of great players.”

On the question about what will be his goal for the season in Sweden the reply comes fast, “My goal is to be a great teammate and to win the Super Series championship this year.”

General manager of the Black Knights, David Jonsson is also pleased with the first signing of the year:

”To get Nate here really opens up a lot of opportunities for us. A player of this caliber and experience will be really hard to prepare against for our opponents.” Jonsson continues ”I am really pleased with Coach Fiddler’s job with this year’s recruiting process so far, and expecting that we will be able to publish some more signings in the near future.”
