Team Hungary takes on the Czech Republic in Three Nations Cup finale

In their second ever game against each other, Team Hungary will host Team Czech Republic at New Hidegkuti Nándor Stadium in Budapest, on October 14.

This is the second meeting between these two teams. The first, September 27, 2015, has become historic for the National Team of Hungary. It marked the day when Team Hungary played its first game ever. It was held in Budapest against the Czech Republic. That match ended in a 26-7 victory for the visitors. Since that exhibition game, the two teams have not met until now.

The stakes are high this time, because one of the two squads will take home the very first Three Nations Cup trophy. Both of them demolished Slovakia in their first game. Team Hungary won 61-0 in an away match where everything went according to plan. The same was true for Team Czech Republic, they handed Slovakia a 44-0 defeat at home

Both national squads improved since that 2016 exhibition match. Back then Lee Hlavka was the head coach of the Hungarian National team.

In 2016, Vilmos Grátz took over and in the same year, he already got the first victory against Poland. Since then a progress has begun. Hungary now has a great variety of experienced players and young talents. However, they will be missing Richárd Roják (RB) due to injury, which might count as a big blow for the offense.

The Czech Republic showed stability in offense, defense and special team against Slovakia. It is due to the players’ physicality as well. The passing game was the only problematic factor in the game. This might be the only part where Team Czech Republic needs to improve.

After three years the two teams meet again. Nevertheless, this game will be much closer then their last encounter.

The game is being shown on national TV in Hungary and will not be livestreamed.
