Theo Landers eyes historic three-peat as Las Rozas Black Demons return to Spanish Bowl

Theodore “Theo” Landers, the 28-year-old Canadian quarterback, stands on the brink of cementing his legacy as he prepares to lead the Las Rozas Black Demons to their third consecutive Spanish Bowl title. The Madrid-based franchise will face the Badalona Dracs at Badalona Municipal Stadium this Saturday, aiming to extend their dominance in Spain’s LNFA Serie A.

A dynasty in motion
Since arriving in 2023, Landers has transformed the Black Demons into Spain’s premier football powerhouse, securing back-to-back championships (2023, 2024). His debut season culminated in a 22-13 title-game victory over Osos Rivas and a 37-23 championship win over the same opponent last year. When asked about pursuing a three-peat, Landers emphasized focus over legacy:

“It’s a special opportunity, but I don’t take it for granted. I’m excited to be part of history!”

Semifinal statement
The Black Demons advanced to the final in emphatic fashion, crushing the Terrassa Reds 35-0 in the semifinals. Landers showcased his dual-threat mastery, rushing for two touchdowns himself while the defense stifled the Reds’ offense.

Building a new football culture
Landers’ decision to remain in Spain has reshaped the league. Initially signed for one season, he recognized the team’s potential:

“I came to win one championship, but we built a group capable of sustained success.”

His leadership has elevated the Black Demons into dynastic favorites, inspiring a 40% surge in Madrid’s youth football registrations.

Tactical mastery meets athleticism
Landers’ league-leading 26 TDs (16 passing, 10 rushing) in 2025 highlight his versatility. Behind a dominant offensive line, he orchestrates a balanced attack featuring RB Dominic Coffman and WR Jorge García-Valcárcel. “We trust our coaches to put us in the best position,” Landers said, referencing their tactical dismantling of the Terrassa Reds.

Respecting history, ignoring hype
The Badalona Dracs, their championship opponents, boast 10 finals appearances since 2010. Landers dismisses past narratives:

“Their current roster has younger players. I’m focused on what’s in front of us.”

His preparation centers on neutralizing the Dracs’ revamped defense.

Legacy in progress
As one of Spain’s most influential import players, Landers’ commitment extends beyond the field. He regularly hosts youth clinics, cementing his cultural impact. Yet, when pressed about his future, he remains focused:

“I haven’t thought beyond Saturday. My priority is winning this championship.”

A nation watches
Saturday’s matchup represents a referendum on Spain’s football evolution. For Landers and the Black Demons, victory would solidify their dynasty.
