Tokyo Gas Creators secure shutout victory over Oriental Bio Silver Star

In an outstanding performance, the Tokyo Gas Creators (2-2) defeated the Oriental Bio Silver Star (0-4) 16-0 in the fourth round of the X1 Super, marking Tokyo Gas’s first shutout of the season.

Strong defensive start
Tokyo Gas set the tone early with a strong defensive effort, highlighted by linebacker Koki Akakura’s interception, which gave the Creators excellent field position at the Silver Star’s 30-yard line. Quarterback Yuhito Taniguchi managed the offense effectively, leading to an 18-yard field goal by Shun Shiramoto, putting Tokyo Gas on the board first.

Offensive breakthroughs
The game remained a defensive battle until the second quarter when Tokyo Gas capitalized on a punt return to drive deep into Silver Star territory. Taniguchi connected with wide receiver Justin Hobbs for a 14-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 10-0.

In the second half, running back Ryotaro Hoshino showcased his skills with a 31-yard run, setting up Shiramoto for two more field goals from 34 and 52 yards, respectively. Shiramoto’s impressive performance included three field goals, solidifying his role as a key player in the game.

Defensive dominance
On the defensive side, Tokyo Gas’s Rintaro Matsuki recorded two sacks, effectively neutralizing Silver Star quarterback Donovan Isom and limiting Oriental Bio’s offensive opportunities. The Silver Star struggled to convert, missing two field goals and extending their losing streak to four games.

Individual standout performances
For Tokyo Gas, Yuhito Taniguchi completed 8 of 13 passes for 55 yards and 1 touchdown, while Justin Hobbs was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 20 yards and a touchdown. Ryotaro Hoshino led the rushing attack with 60 yards on 8 carries.

On the other side, Isom completed 10 of 19 passes for 123 yards for Oriental Bio, but the team couldn’t find the end zone. Yusuke Ishikawa was the top rusher with 9 carries for 28, while Devin Phelps led the receiving corps with 3 catches for 33 yards.

With this victory, Tokyo Gas is looking to build momentum as they aim for a stronger position in the league.
