USA Football selects final rosters for 2025 U.S. Men’s and Women’s flag football national teams

USA Football, the sport’s National Governing Body responsible for selecting, training and leading the U.S. National Teams for international competition, including flag football’s Olympic debut in 2028, has announced the final 12-athlete rosters for the 2025 U.S. Men’s and Women’s Flag National Teams.
In September, the U.S. National Teams will compete in Panama City at the 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Flag Football Championship, which will feature the top teams from North and South America. The U.S. Women’s National Team will travel to compete in The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China in August.
U.S. National Team coaches and staff trimmed the rosters from 18 athletes to 12 following the completion of U.S. National Team Training Camp at the United States Performance Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The remaining six athletes per team will serve as alternates eligible to be called up to the active roster.
“USA Football is excited to announce the final rosters for this year’s U.S. National Teams,” said Eric Mayes, USA Football’s Managing Director of High Performance and National Teams. “The depth of talent in our athlete pool is the best it’s ever been. With only 12 active roster spots per team, our staff had to make some incredibly tough decisions. We’re proud of all our athletes for the commitment, effort and energy they brought to camp last weekend, and we’re looking forward to working with the teams as we prepare for international competition in Panama and China later this year.”
Preparation for competition in Panama and China continues for the U.S. National Teams at USA Football’s International Bowl in Los Angeles next month. The International Bowl will feature a series of exhibitions between the U.S. and teams representing Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel and Japan. The event will help all participating countries prepare for international championships and is part of USA Football’s efforts to support the global football community’s growth.
Following the International Bowl, the U.S. National Teams will hold a final training camp in Charlotte in July to prepare for the competitions in Panama and China.
The U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams won gold at the 2024 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Flag Football World Championships in Lahti, Finland after sweeping their matches against the largest pool of teams in the event’s history. That journey, from training camp to winning gold, is highlighted in the recently released documentary, “Champions Rising: USA Football’s National Team ” on USA Football’s YouTube channel. Champions Rising, created by USA Football in partnership with Duality Sports & Entertainment, provides a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to be world champions in flag football.
