Spain: Veteran linebacker Jovan Bayless joins Osos Rivas to bolster playoff push

Osos Rivas has strengthened its defense for the stretch run of the 2026 LNFA season, signing experienced linebacker Jovan Bayless. The move adds a proven, versatile defender to a unit supporting one of the league’s most competitive squads, currently sitting second in the LNFA West with a 3–1–1 record.

Bayless brings both pedigree and production
The signing brings in a player with significant winning experience. Bayless was a key part of back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championship teams at Ferris State University in 2021 and 2022, serving as a team captain in his final season. More recently, he captained the Warsaw Mets to a vice national championship in the Polish Football League in 2025, recording 108 total tackles and displaying notable versatility by lining up at multiple linebacker and safety positions.

Adding depth and leadership to the defense
Known for his high motor and tactical awareness, Bayless offers Osos Rivas reliable run-stopping ability and defensive communication. His experience in high-stakes games—both in college and in European leagues—makes him a valuable addition as the team pursues a postseason berth and aims to close the gap with division-leading Las Rozas Black Demons.

The acquisition signals Osos Rivas’ intent to solidify its defense ahead of critical late-season matchups, betting that Bayless’ toughness and postseason background will pay dividends on the field.
