Vienna Vikings’ dominate Prague Lions in Eastern Conference shutout
The Vienna Vikings (6–1) solidified their Eastern Conference lead with a decisive 34–0 victory over the Prague Lions (4–3) in Week 8 of the European League of Football, extending their win streak while handing Prague their third loss of 2024.
Holmes’ aerial mastery fuels Vikings’ rout
Quarterback Ben Holmes delivered a flawless performance, completing 29 of 36 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns. His first-quarter 14-yard strike to Nils Keimel (5 receptions, 69 yards) opened the scoring, followed by two second-quarter touchdowns to tight end Florian Bierbaumer (9-yard and 14-yard receptions). Holmes capped his day with a fourth-quarter 6-yard touchdown pass to Reece Horn, cementing Vienna’s offensive dominance. Kicker Dennis Tasic added two field goals (35 and 28 yards) in the second quarter.

Prague quarterback Javarian Smith struggled under relentless pressure, completing 9 of 19 passes for 86 yards and two interceptions. Running back Adam Zouzelka managed 47 rushing yards on 13 carries, but the Lions mustered only 130 total yards and failed to convert 10 of 12 third-down attempts.
