Week#2 of the Austrian Football League highlighted by two title contender clashes

The Austrian Football League heads into its second full weekend of action featuring a pair of top rated matchups.

The defending champion Danube Dragons open their 2024 AFL season when the face the Swarco Raiders who already look impressive after their opening day win. Then the Prague Black Panthers, who went undefeated during the 2023 regular season, will host last year’s runners up, the Vienna Vikings. Finally, 2023 semifinalists, the Graz Giants, will hit the road to play the Mödling Rangers.

All three games will be livestreamed.

Saturday, March 23

Tirol Raiders (1-0) @ Danube Dragons (0-0).

The Danube Dragons will host the Tirol Raiders in the first game of the 2024 AFL season for the reigning title holders. The Raiders won their opening game last weekend defeating the Mödling Rangers 45-2.

Graz Giants (1-0) @ Mödling Rangers (0-1)

The Graz Giants impressed last weekend when they got by the Prague Black Panthers 15-7. Meanwhile, Mödling struggled and were manhandled by the Swarco Raiders 45-2.

Vienna Vikings (1-0) @ Prague Black Panthers (0-1)

Sunday’s matchup will see a battle between two title contenders as the Black Panthers, who were beaten 15-7 by the Graz Giants, will be at home against the 2023 finalists, the Vienna Vikings. Vienna overwhelmed the Telfs Patriots last weekend 83-7 (!?). Nuff said.
