Paris Musketeers re-sign dynamic playmaker Austin Mitchell
The Paris Musketeers have secured a major offensive weapon for their 2026 campaign, announcing the re-signing of veteran wide receiver and return specialist Austin Mitchell, reuniting him with quarterback Zach Edwards to restore one of the European League of Football‘s most dangerous connections.
Proven production in Paris
The 5’9″, 175-pound receiver has been a standout performer during his two seasons with the Musketeers. In his first season with Paris in 2024, Mitchell immediately established chemistry with Edwards, catching 65 passes for 1,010 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns while adding 637 return yards. He followed this with another strong campaign in 2025, recording 47 receptions for 600 yards and 9 touchdowns while returning 28 kicks for 821 yards and an additional score. His consistent production has made him one of the ELF‘s most reliable offensive threats.
Previous success in Germany
Before joining the Musketeers, Mitchell dominated the German Football League with the Dresden Monarchs in 2023, leading the league in all three major receiving categories with 94 catches for 1,627 yards and 20 touchdowns. His transition to the ELF proved equally successful, demonstrating his ability to excel against top European competition. The Plaquemine, Louisiana native developed his skills at Southeastern Louisiana University (FCS Division I NCAA), where he earned all-conference honors in 2019 and 2020 while accumulating 2,735 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns over his collegiate career.
Dual-threat capability
What makes Mitchell particularly valuable is his ability to contribute both on offense and special teams. His speed and open-field vision make him one of the ELF‘s most dangerous return specialists, consistently providing favorable field position for the Musketeers‘ offense. The 5’9″ speedster’s versatility allows Paris to utilize him in multiple roles, from deep threat receiver to punt returner, making him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.
Key piece for playoff push
Mitchell’s re-signing represents a significant step in Paris‘s offseason plans, reuniting him with Edwards and providing continuity for an offense that showed explosive potential during their previous partnership. His veteran presence and proven big-play ability will be crucial as the Musketeers aim to build on their 10-2 regular season record and make another deep playoff run in 2026. The reunion of this quarterback-receiver duo gives Paris one of the most dangerous offensive combinations in the ELF as they pursue championship aspirations.
