Rustavi Steelers come from behind to capture their first ever Georgian American Football League title

The Rustavi Steelers staged a late-game comeback to defeat the Tbilisi Crusaders 24-18 to capture their first ever Georgian American Football League championship.

Trailing 18-12 in the fourth quarter, the Steelers blocked two straight punts and scored on both possessions to down Tbillisi and cap a historic undefeated season.

Rustavi took control of the game early on forcing a fumble and scoring and then adding another touchdown to take a 12-0 lead. But the Crusaders roared back in the second half with two touchdowns to tie the game 12-12 at the half.

Tbilisi then scored the only touchdown of the third quarter to take an 18-12 lead heading into the final quarter leading to the late game dramatics from the Steelers.

The Crusaders had defeated Rustavi to win the 2017 title so this victory was sweet revenge for the Steelers and marked the first time that a team has gone unbeaten to win the Georgian title.
