The AFI All-Pandemic Team selection committee did not have an easy time of it in choosing a quarterback.
There were some terrific performances during this pandemic season and that led to some heated debates. However, for consistency on a high level, Dacia Vienna Vikings quarterback Jadrian Clark was at the top in almost every category in leading the Vikings to the Austrian Football League title, beating the Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants in three straight games.. His stats alone would justify his selection. He threw for 932 yards and 13 touchdowns in the three wins (31-19, 45-13 and 46-29), against zero interceptions. And in leading Vienna to three straight wins, he completed passes to 12 different receivers. And his speed as a rusher made him a constant threat on the ground. Finally, in a shortened season, he established himself as a true team leader.
His path to the Vikings was not too shabby either.
The 25 year old Clark, 6’3″, 225 lb from Lakeland, Florida, guided the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, to the German Bowl in 2019, throwing for 4,009 yards and a league-best 51 touchdowns. He spent the 2018 season with the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions, guiding them to the GFL semifinals, throwing for 3,627 yards and 45 touchdowns. A three year starter for the Weber State Wildcats (NCAA Div. I, FCS), Clark finished his career as one of the top quarterbacks in the school’s history. He ended his career third in Weber State history in career total offense with 6,568 yards.
