CFL: Dutch LB Tyron Vrede makes the cut with Ottawa Redblacks
Dutch linebacker Tyron Vrede, who was picked 10th in the CFL Global Draft by the Ottawa Redblacks, has officially joined the CFL team following final cuts this past weekend.
The 6′, 230 pound native of Amsterdam, Holland, who learned to play football with his local team, the Amsterdam Crusaders, played college football at the University of North Dakota. As a member of the Fighting Hawks, in his junior and senior years, he played in 29 games recording 56 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks.
Ottawa kicks off the Canadian Football League season on August 8 with an away game against the Edmonton Elks.
