Dallas Cowboys add huge Mexican OT Isaac Alarcon to roster

As part of the NFL International Player Pathway Program, the Dallas Cowboys have added massive Mexican offensive lineman Isaac Alarcon to the roster.

The 6’6″, 320 lb Alarcon played his college football in Mexico for Borregos ITESM Monterrey where he is also a student of automotive design engineering. He represented Mexico at the U19 World Championships in Harbin, China facing Team USA, Canada, Japan, Austria, China and Australia. Mexico captured the bronze medal, defeating Japan in the third place game. While at the university, he helped the Borregos win Mexico’s CONADEIP (Comisión Nacional Deportiva Estudiantil de Instituciones Privadas) championship, their fourth title in 10 years, and he was selected to the CONADEIP all-star team.

The NFL International Player Pathway Program, instituted in 2017, aims to provide international athletes the opportunity to compete at the NFL level, improve their skills, and ultimately earn a spot on an NFL roster.

The NFC East was chosen to receive these players in a random draw, making the Cowboys one of four teams able to carry an additional overseas player on their practice squads in 2020.

Alarcon will join the Cowboys’ roster through the end of training camp. At that time, he’ll be eligible for an international player practice squad exemption – which means that Dallas may keep him as an extra practice squad member, though he won’t be eligible to be activated during the 2020 season.
