Finland: Seinäjoki Crocodiles land dynamic quarterback CJ Fowler for 2026 Maple League season

The Seinäjoki Crocodiles have made a major offseason move by signing American quarterback CJ Fowler, a proven playmaker with extensive recent success in European leagues, to lead their offense in the 2026 Maple League.

Proven success in Europe
Fowler comes to Seinäjoki from a standout 2024 season with the Oslo Vikings in the Swedish Superserien, where he threw for 1,238 yards and 15 touchdowns against just 3 interceptions in seven games. He was voted team captain and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors while leading the franchise to its first-ever playoff appearance and victory. Prior to that, he delivered a spectacular performance for the Tychy Falcons in the Polish Football League during 2022, throwing for over 900 yards and 12 touchdowns in just three games.

A record-setting college foundation
The 6’2″, 220-pound signal-caller from Apache Junction, Arizona built his foundation with an impressive collegiate career. After being named Division 1 FCS Offensive Rookie of the Year at Mississippi Valley State University, he transferred to Western New Mexico University where he set multiple school records including passing yards in a single game and single season. He closed his college career with over 4,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns in his final 13 games.

What he brings to Seinäjoki
Beyond his strong arm and dual-threat capability, Fowler brings intelligence and adaptability. He graduated summa cum laude with a triple major and has experience running multiple offensive systems from Air Raid to West Coast. For a Crocodiles team looking to compete at the highest level, adding a quarterback of Fowler‘s caliber and recent performance could be the key to elevating their offensive production and making a deeper playoff run.
