The Potsdam Royals of the German Football League have announced on social media that they have re-signed one of the best running backs in Europe in Jake Mayon. Mayon was a key part of the Potsdam offense as they reached the GFL semifinals for the first time in team history.

With those numbers, Mayon averaged 158.8 yards rushing a game as he was the centerpiece of the Royals run heavy offense. The Plainfield, Illinois native also added ten catches for 66 yards and a touchdown, bringing his total touchdowns to 22 in only 11 games. Mayon’s play was not overlooked as he was recognized as one of the league’s All-Stars.

Before joining the Royals last season, the stocky back had an accomplished collegiate career with the Northern Michigan Wildcats (NCAA D2). Mayon put up 4,220 yards and 38 touchdowns, both team records during his four years in Marquette.
