The Tokyo Gas Creators blanked Fuji Xerox Minerva AFC 30-0 in week 2 action in Japan’s X League last week and quarterback Ryo Murota was a key reason.
Murota threw three touchdown passes and carried the ball 10 times averaging 6.3 yards a carry to lead the Gas Creators.
The Creators use a run heavy offense with Murota carrying the ball much of the way.
All three of his completions in the second half were for 30 yard plus TD bombs. Murota was double threat that the Tokyo Gas opponent had no answer for and earned the Inside Sport Japan X League Player of the Week award for the outstanding individual performance of week two in the X League.
