The Cairo Wolves of the Egyptian National Football League have signed linebacker/fullback Jeron Jones for the 2018 season.
The versatile 6’2″, 245 lb Jones from Richmond, Virginia, played at Virginia Union University (NCAA Div. II). Prior to his scholarship career at Virginia Union, Jones played at Fork Union Military Academy,a prep school that has turned out 80 or more NFL players.
Jones spent the 2017 season with both Brazil’s Cuiabá Arsenal and the Istanbul Yeditepe Eagles in Turkey. The Arsenal reached the Brazilian semifinals with Jones at linebacker. He spent the 2016 season in Brazil playing for the Empyreo Leme Lizards of the National league in that country. He played for the USA All American Eagles in the 2015 Aztec Bowl in Mexico and also in 2015 managed to play for the Brazilian champions, Joao Pessoa Espectros and for the Indjija Indians in Serbia’s top league. He first came to Europe in 2014 playing for the Nis Imperatori.
The Cairo Wolves reached the Egyptian semifinals in 2017 losing to the MSA Tigers.
When asked what he brings to the team, Jones replied:
“I am a big, strong, fast, versatile athlete who can play many different positions. My presence on the field is clear every play with my high level of performance were if I do not make the play I have done something on the field to put my teammates in good position to make the plays.”

“This sport is my passion and it has provided me the opportunity to travel many places around the world and make my passion a lifestyle that I am able to thrive, network, meet new people and help further develop the sport in places where needed. It is a true blessing to me and I am very thankful to God for these opportunities and abilities to help others while doing what I love.”
