LIVESTREAM GERMANY: Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns @ Stuttgart Scorpions, September 4, 17:00 CET (5 pm, 11 am ET)

The Shwabisch Hall Unicorns (9-0) will make the short trip to nearby Stuttgart to take on the Scorpions (1-8) in both team’s regular-season finale. The last time these two teams met the Unicorns won convincingly at home in the regional derby.

Last the Unicorns clinched the GFL South title by defeating a one-loss Saarland Hurricanes team. In that game, German quarterback Alex Haupert returned to the line-up after weeks of dealing with a shoulder injury. Haupert helped conduct an efficient offense yet again as he was able to find former NFL tight end Moritz Böhringer, Austrian talent Yannick Mayr, and Unicorns veteran Tyler Rutenbeck. On the ground, John Santiago and Jannis Fielder helped the Unicorns dominate on the time of possession and move the sticks with ease.  Expect the Unicorns to sit many of their starters today and play some of their young talents today against a struggling Scorpions team.

The Unicorn’s defense played extremely well last week as well holding a potent Saarland passing attack to zero points. Defensive end Corey Chapman was able to pressure the quarterback often and even block a field goal. Fans can anticipate Chapman to play hard again today as he faces off against his former team.

Stuttgart looks to finish the season with some momentum and another disappointing regular season. However, Scorpions receiver Patrick Donahue is a key player to watch in this one. Donahue was a superstar in Europe in the past, staring for the Unicorns and Swarco Raiders. This season for Stuttgart, Donahue has flashed the greatness that once made him one of the continent’s best, routinely making 2-3 jaw-dropping plays a game. Last week, Donahue played running back carrying the ball 17 times for 78 yards and a touchdown. Other than Donahue, Stuttgart will rely on quarterback Christoph Göppel and receiver Achim Grossmann.

Defensively, Samuel Heiniger and Geronimo De Pauli are two Scorpions that could change the momentum of this game. Heiniger will aim to help the Scorpions be able to slow down an explosive Unicorn passing attack, while the linebacker De Pauli will be busy against Schwäbisch Halls talented running backs.

Head Coach Jordan Neuman is on the brink of yet another undefeated regular season. With a win, today Neuman and the Unicorns will have won well over 60 regular-season games in a row.  Of course, Schwäbisch Hall has bigger goals as they have their eyes set on becoming German Bowl Champions once again this autumn.
