The American Football Federation of Germany, AFVD (American Football Verbandes Deutschland) has announced that Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns bench boss Jordan Neuman has been named head coach of the German National Team.

Needless to say, the 38 year old Neuman, a graduate of McMurry University in Texas and a native of Fort Worth, Texas has been one of the most successful head coaches in the German Football League in recent years. Since taking over as head coach of the Unicorns in late 2016, after spending three seasons (2014-2016) as offensive coordinator, he has won two German Bowl championships and finished second once. As offensive coordinator, he helped the Unicorns reach three straight German Bowl finals (2014-2016) and also the Eurobowl final in 2015. He was also the quarterbacks coach for Team Germany when the team won the European title in 2014, beating Austria in an double overtime thriller.

Prior to that, he had served as the Vienna Vikings offensive coordinator (2011-2013) helping the Vikings win back-to-back Austrian championships in 2012 and 2013 while also capturing the Eurobowl title in 2013..

Neuman first arrived in Europe in 2005 as the quarterback for Schwäbisch Hall.

Jordan Neuman:

“It is a great honor to lead the German National Team and I am very thankful for this opportunity. We will look to build on the success of what so many talented players and coaches have accomplished in the past, while implementing new ideas and take that into the next generation.

We need to breath life back into the National Team and my highest priority is to make sure the entire German Football Community feels they are apart of this team in one way or another.

My ultimate goal is that the players feel a great since of pride to be a part of this team and that the second they enter any kind of National Team Camp, Tournament, Competition they will feel the level of professionalism and effort that will be done to make sure their National Team experience is everything it should be.”
