London Warriors Women’s Team Gaining More Support

The London Warriors have been dominant in men’s American football for a number of years in Great Britain winning the last three championships, which is a testament to the program. Now the women’s side is catching up.

In a well-produced video, three of the ladies, linebacker Jayne Goodliffe, safety Lucie Stewart and quarterback Karisa Lundberg, explain their attraction to the game. And they both explain how the game appeals to women of all shapes and sizes. Although it is a great recruiting tool for the London Warriors, its message resonates with women anywhere in the world who love playing sports and might give American football a try.

Great Britain’s ladies national team went to the final of the European championships last fall ultimately losing to a tough Finnish squad. But they acquitted themselves well throughout the tournament. In fact, the tournament saw a much-improved level of football. Watching this video and realizing the work being done at the club level, in particular here with the Warriors, it is easy to understand the growth of the game on the ladies side as well.

With this kind of positive message for women, it can only get better. For more information and videos, check out the Warriors Facebook page.
