New/old rushing leader as Austrian Football League heads into home stretch

With four games left in the 2017 regular season in the Austrian Football League, there is a new/old rushing leader as Mödling Rangers QB Dylan Potts has regained the lead in the week-to-week battle with fellow quarterback Garrett Safron of the Dacia Vienna Vikings.

Ljubljana Silverhawks quarterback Zach Cavanaugh holds onto the passing yardage lead and for the second week in a row Rangers wideout Roman Namdar still tops all receivers.

The surprising SonicWall Mödling Rangers have five players among the Top 5 in the four categories while the Traun Steelsharks and Ljubljana Silverhawks have four each. Then comes the Dacia Vienna Vikings with three, the Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants with two and the Swarco Raiders and Bratislava Monarchs with one each.

Passing

Zach Cavanaugh of the Silverhawks threw for 387 yards in his team’s 35-27 loss to the Graz Giants and retains the passing lead in Austria with 1,785 yards and 19 TDS. Mödling Rangers QB Dylan Potts has climbed into 2nd with 1,767 yards.  John Uribe of the Traun Steelsharks has 1,501 yards and is now 3rd. Garrett Safron of the Dacia Vienna Vikings has dropped to 4th with 1,414  yards and a league leading 21 TDs. Swarco Raiders QB Sean Shelton is 5th with 1,401 yards and 20 TDs.

Receiving

SonicWall Mödling Rangers  WR Roman Namdar retains the top spot in receiving yardage in the Austrian Football League. He now has with 871 yards. Matic Tomse of the Ljubljana Silverhawks is 2nd with his 619 yards.  Mario Winter from the Traun Steelsharks has moved up to 3rd with 515 yards. Eugen Sumic remains in 4th with466 yards while Florian Bierbaumer of the Giants is now 5th with 447 yards.

Rushing

Quarterback Dylan Potts of the Mödling Rangers now tops the rushing yardage list with 792 yards and a league-best 12 TDs. Last week’s leader, Garrett Safron, quarterback of the Dacia Vienna Vikings has slid back down to 2nd with 559 yards. . Traun Steelsharks RB, Felix Stadler is 3rd with 488 yards while Islaam Amadu of the Vikings has risen to 4th with his 439 yards. Florian Nöhmayr, also of the Steelsharks is now 5th with 414 yards.

Tackles

Mödling Rangers LB Barron Miller still leads all tacklers in the Austrian Football League with 46.5 tackles. Ljubljana Silverhawks LB Patrick Kenney moved up to 2nd with 37.5 tackles. Graz Giants LB Thomas Schnurrer has entered the list at 3rd with 32.5 while Markus Bernas, also of the Rangers is 4th with 32.  Cameron Smith of the Bratislava Monarchs remains 5th with 30.5 tackles.
