Sweden: Örebro Black Knights welcome back Bim Jensen as assistant defensive coach
The Örebro Black Knights, who finished third in the Swedish Superserien with a 6-2 record last season, are strengthening their coaching staff for 2026 by bringing back familiar face Bim Jensen as assistant defensive coach. The 25-year-old will work directly with defensive coordinator Erik Törnblom, bringing international experience and deep club ties to the role.
A true Black Knights product returns
Jensen’s connection to the Örebro organization runs deep, having developed within the club’s system since her early teens. She began playing with the Black Knights at the U13 level before making the remarkable transition to quarterback for the women’s team at just 15 years old. Her immediate impact was recognized when she earned Rookie of the Year honors during the women’s team’s 2017 championship season—their second Swedish title. Her coaching journey with the men’s team began in 2019 under head coach Matt Hamme, where she served as both wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator before embarking on her international adventures.
Global experience across three continents
Jensen’s coaching education expanded significantly during her time abroad, particularly during her 2020-2021 training and studies in the United States, where she was drafted into a professional league. Her European experience included both playing and coaching roles with the Hamburg Pioneers in 2022 before joining the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns organization in 2023. There she achieved the rare double of winning championships as both a player (with the women’s team in the GFL) and as a coach (with the men’s team). Her international journey continued with playing time for the Sydney Raiders in Australia, where she won the Opal Bowl, followed by coaching success with the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College where she won the BUCS Premiership in 2024 while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Media Production.
Proven winner ready to contribute
Head coach Branko Mutic emphasized that “Bim’s experience, familiarity with the team, and analytical approach make her a strong addition to the Staff.”
Jensen herself noted the personal significance of returning:
“This club has shaped me, both as a player and a person. I’ve been here during seasons of success but also when it’s been tough, and that’s exactly why it feels so special to be back. My adventures abroad have given me new perspectives and experiences, and now I look forward to giving back all I can to the club that has always had a special place in my heart.”
Her championship pedigree from multiple leagues and countries provides valuable insight as Örebro aims to challenge for the Superserien title in 2026.
