Osos Rivas clinch playoff berth in Spanish league with hard-fought win over Mariners

The Osos Rivas (6-1-1) secured their spot in the LNFA playoffs with a gritty 27–12 victory over the Gijón Mariners (1-5-1), leaning on a strong ground attack and timely plays to overcome a resilient effort from the visitors.

Jenkings leads the charge
Running back Kyle Jenkings was the standout performer, scoring three touchdowns on the ground to power the Osos offense. He opened the scoring in the first quarter and added two more scores, including a key third-quarter touchdown that helped seal the win.

Mariners battle despite adversity
Gijón lost starting quarterback Justin Agner to injury in the second quarter but fought back behind backup Gonzalo Rojas, who connected with receiver James Payton for two late touchdownssource. The Osos defense held firm when it mattered, however, limiting big plays and preserving the lead.

Playoffs secured, momentum building
With the win, Osos Rivas mathematically clinch a postseason berth and solidify their hold on second placesource. The performance—especially from Jenkings—shows they can rely on a physical identity as they prepare for the playoff push. For Gijón, the fight shown without their starter offers something to build on despite the loss.
