Philippine Tackle Football League Wrapped up Week 4

The Philippine Tackle Football League rolled through its fourth week of action with the Bandits and Wolves asserting themselves.

Bandits 41 – Vanguards 0

The Vanguards, with the addition of rookie import DJ Batistella, were riding high coming off a win over the Knights the previous week.

However the four-time champion Bandits proved to be too tall an order as they beat the Vanguards 41 – 0.

Rookie running back Edlen Hernandez, last week’s player of the week, was active on both sides of the ball with a seven yard run and a 13 yard reception on offense. On defense, he registered eight solo tackles and three assists.

Anchored by season three defensive player of the year, JP Suarez (six tackles and two assists), the Bandits were able to negate the Vanguards’ bread and butter run offense up the middle, and linebackers Inigo Pulido and James Dimagiba were disruptive on the outside.

Wolves 77 –  Knights 0

The defending champions easily dispatched of the Knights in the second game 77 – 0 in a game which saw the Wolves score on offense, defense and special teams.

Led by season five finals MVP Troy Lynch on offense, the Wolves scored at will with rushing touchdowns and passing touchdowns to multiple players

The Knights improved on last week’s showing, managing 13 completed passes from playing coach and captain Job Gayta

The Wolves defense proved too much for the Knights to contain with six interceptions and three of those interceptions being returned for touchdowns.
