The Ravensburg Razorbacks (8-3) punched their ticket to the German Football League playoffs for the third straight season with a 46-18 win over the Regensburg Phoenix (5-6) in front of 1,614 fans in Ravensburg.
Razorbacks strike early
The Razorbacks needed just one play to open the scoring, with Broghean McGovern finding Anthony Harris for a 13-yard touchdown. The defense struck moments later when Jonah Choate scooped up a fumble at the Regensburg 45 and took it all the way back for a 14-0 lead.
The Phoenix answered with a 12-play, 67-yard drive that ended with Dominik Laßmann drilling a 35-yard field goal.
McGovern went back on the attack in the second quarter. Facing third-and-20, he connected with William Enneking for a 30-yard touchdown to cap a 10-play, 82-yard drive. Aniel Buße added a 26-yard field goal before another Regensburg turnover gave the Razorbacks one more chance before halftime.
McGovern hit Aidan Enneking for a six-yard score to finish an 85-yard march, then ran in the two-point conversion himself for a 32-3 halftime lead.

Phoenix battles back
The Phoenix came out fighting after the break and kept Ravensburg scoreless in the third quarter.
Cameron Yowell then found Nicolas Hayes for a four-yard touchdown, cutting the margin to 32-10. Yowell completed 24 of 34 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown, with Hayes hauling in 11 passes for 121 yards and the score.
The Razorbacks regained control in the fourth as McGovern capped a 16-play, 84-yard drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tim Müller.
Regensburg answered with a seven-play, 65-yard march, with Nebechi Abana powering in from five yards before Yowell hit Jadon Gildersleeve for the two-point conversion. Abana finished with 84 yards on 19 carries.
McGovern closes it out
McGovern needed only 37 seconds to answer. He connected with Aidan Enneking for a 34-yard touchdown, Enneking’s second of the afternoon, to put the game away.
McGovern finished 16 of 31 for 267 yards and five touchdowns. William Enneking led Ravensburg with 88 yards on five catches, while Aidan Enneking added five receptions for 63 yards and two scores. Lennies McFerren paced the ground game with 89 yards on 15 carries as the Razorbacks secured their postseason spot.
Playoff picture takes shape
The win officially sends the Razorbacks back to the playoffs for the third straight season and leaves them sitting second in the GFL South at 8-3 heading into their regular-season finale against the unbeaten Dresden Monarchs. For Regensburg, the loss ends its playoff hopes. The Phoenix drop to 5-6 and remain fifth, one game behind the fourth-place Munich Cowboys (6-5). With only one game remaining, Regensburg can no longer catch Munich for the fourth and final playoff spot because the Cowboys have already reached six wins.
