Spain: Las Rozas Black Demons hand Badalona Dracs first loss of season to advance to Spanish Bowl

The defending Spanish champion Las Rozas Black Demons took charge early and shut down the Badalona Dracs offensive juggernaut, holding them to the fewest points they have scored all year in downing the Dracs 23-15 to advance to the Spanish Bowl for the fifth straight year.

The Black Demons opened the game with quarterback Theo Landers marching his team down to the Badalona red zone. He capped the first drive by handing off to running back Daniel Romero who punched it in to give Las Rozas a 7-0 lead.

The Dracs responded in kind on their first drive with Ra’Von Bonner running it in to tie the score up at 7-7.

As the first half wound down, Landers found Jorge Garcia Valacrel from 60 yards out to make the score 14-7 in favor of Las Rozas. Then an errant snap by the Dracs resulted in a safety and with an unsuccessful field goal from Badalona, the score going into half time was 16-7 in favor of the Black Demons.

After the break, the reigning title holders came out swinging with Landers taking it into the endzone himself after a 30-yard run to extend the lead to 23-7. Badalona didn’t drop their heads as Marco Duran connected with wideout Eric Ladero to add another touchdown to the scoreboard and with a successful two-point conversion, Badalona narrowed the lead to 23-15.

The Dracs could not find the end zone again and ended up turning the ball over on downs to end the game to put the Black Demons back into the finals.
