Uruguay kicks off 2021 season

The Uruguayan League of American Football, LUFA (Liga Uruguaya de Futebol Americano) kicks off its 2021 season Saturday, August 21.

The four-team league includes the defending champion Montevideo Golden Bulls, the Montevideo Troyanos, the Barbarians, and the Spartans.

Each team will play one home and one away against the three other teams.

The Golden Bulls enter as the favorites after capturing the 2020 title beating the Troyanos in the championship game 54-27. The Golden Bulls went undefeated in the regular season and then trounced the Emperadores 40-14 in the semifinals.
