Watch A Replay Of The China Arena Football League’s Historic First Draft

The China Arena Football League held its historic first draft last weekend and the CAFL Draft Show was seen in over 35 countries. A total of 120 players were picked from five different nations.

The top pick of the draft was offensive lineman David Wang from Virginia Tech, chosen by the Guangzhou Power. Wang’s brother Ed, who himself is a former draftee of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, now heads up the CAFL’s Beijing office and was on hand to witness the historic first selection.

“David is a coach’s dream. He is fast, has good size (6-2, 300) and is very, very intelligent. He could play any of the interior positions, on either side of the ball.”

The program, which ran 2 1/2 hours, can be seen below and it is also available in Mandarin at CAFLCHINA.COM.

Other notable players drafted include wide receiver Talib Wise who played in Europe for the Swarco Raiders and the Berlin Adler. Here are the results of the draft.
