Brazil’s Timbó Rex Signs Former Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers Linebacker

Zilbar playing for Pioneers

On Wednesday, June 17, the managers of Timbó Rex announced the signing of American linebacker Jacob Zilbar. He is the second player to come from the United States to strengthen the Santa Catarina roster. The player has come to Brazil to compete in the Torneio Touchdown (TTD).

With an already very strong defensive squad, head coach Amadeo Salvador will have the option to use Laércio Anacleto and Dariel Soares, two excellent players, at other positions.

Zilbar was a three-time All-American, two-time Player of the Year and four time All Conference Team in NCAA Division III. H was born in Tampa in Florida, and studied at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (Pioneers).

The board of T-Rex reported that Jacob will come to Brazil this week. Thus, the new hire will have seven days to train and prepare to face the Juventude FA, on June 28, in Caxias do Sul, ready for TTD Week 1.
