Two heated rivals square off in the opening game of the 2022 Nordic U17 Championship tournament as Team Sweden takes on Team Denmark at Myyrmäki football stadium in Vantaa, Finland.

Three time winner of the tournament and defending champions, Team Sweden, last played Denmark in the 2019 event when they came out 31-12 winners. Sweden went on to beat Team Finland in the final in a tight game, 13-7. Meanwhile, the Danish national team dropped a 6-2 decision in 2019 in the bronze medal game to Norway to finish out of the medals.

Sweden captured the title in the inaugural tournament back in 2008 and won again in 2011 and 2015 before defeating Finland to win the 2019 title.

The winner of this game will advance to the gold medal final on Saturday, October 22 while the loser plays in the bronze medal game.
