Turkey: Yeditepe Eagles sign former First-Team All-American DB Brian Peavy

The Yeditepe Eagles, of Istanbul, Turkey, have signed Iowa State alumni Brian Peavy.

The 5’9, 195 pound Houston native was a standout cornerback in the Big 12 during his four-year career. Peavy boasts an impressive resume on and off the field captaining the Cyclones to multiple bowl games, co-captaining the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, First-Team Academic All-Big 12, and winning the Pete Taylor Most Valuable Player award to name a few.

Director of Football Operations and Co-DC of the Eagles Kasey Crosby says:

“You’d be hard-pressed to find a more accomplished D1 College player than Brian, he’s excelled at the highest level of the sport as a P5 All-Conference and All-American player. We expect his playing ability to be excellent considering his pedigree, but we are more excited about the person and character we are getting in Brian. He’ll be a transformational leader on and off the field for the Yeditepe Eagles and I know he’ll help us achieve our championship aspirations for the 2021 season!”

The All-American ended his career with 47 starts, 289 tackles, 15.0 TFL, 38 pass breakups, six interceptions, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries – going down as one of the best defensive backs in school history.

Peavy will be joining Wester Carolina University offensive record holder Terryon Robinson to make for a fearsome duo on either side of the ball. After a one-game Turkish season in 2020, shortened by the pandemic, and a single, slightly sour league victory, the Eagles hope the TAFL will see a full season in 2021.
