In an exciting clash at MK Taxi Field Expo, the Obic Seagulls (5-0) held off a late-game surge from the Elecom Kobe Finies (1-3-1) to secure a 34-25 victory. This win marked Obic’s fifth consecutive triumph, keeping them undefeated as they continue to dominate the XLeague.

Early lead for Elecom Kobe
The game started with Elecom Kobe striking first, as kicker Kento Tanigawa successfully booted a field goal to give his team a 3-0 lead. The Finies maintained this advantage until the second quarter, when the Seagulls began to find their rhythm. Quarterback Pierce Holley connected with wide receiver Takaya Yamanaka (9 catches/128 yds/2 TDs) for a touchdown pass, followed by a one-yard rushing touchdown from running back Hayasuke Shimada. By halftime, Obic had turned the tables, leading 14-3.

Second half fireworks
The second half saw a flurry of scoring, with both teams exchanging touchdowns. Holley continued to shine, throwing two more touchdown passes to Yamanaka and Kotaro Hironaga, extending Obic’s lead to 34-9 early in the fourth quarter. Holley finished the game with impressive passing stats, completing 29 of 41 attempts for 358 yards and four touchdowns. However, Elecom Kobe wasn’t done yet. Quarterback David Pindell responded with a touchdown pass to Daiki Uchida (9 catches/129 yds/1 TD), followed by a rushing touchdown of his own, narrowing the gap. Pindell ended the game with 20 completions on 40 attempts for 297 yards and one touchdown.

Elecom Kobe’s late-game push
As the clock wound down, Elecom Kobe scored again with a touchdown run from Teruto Tsurudome, bringing the score to 34-25. Despite their late-game push, the Finies couldn’t complete the comeback. Obic’s defense held strong, forcing a crucial fumble from Pindell that ultimately sealed the victory for the Seagulls.
